Did anyone else get a submission in their inbox about the Tumblr staff giving away apple products?

I’m here to warn anyone and everyone that THIS IS BOGUS. absolute bogus.

The Tumblr staff is not made of money, and Apple would not give away their stuff unless there is some profit in it for them (and they don’t need it; their sales are doing quite wonderfully). They are a business, after all.

On the topic of bogus things, the posts you see saying “If you don’t reblog this your tumblr will be deleted”? Also bogus. I mean, all you have to do is click on the source and see that there is no actual post like that on the staff page.

The other giveaway posts I see around I’m inclined to think are bogus too, although since I don’t know the people involved I can’t say with any certainty. My reasoning for this is that if it were me, I’d firstly be asking for money in exchange. I mean, I paid good cash for the stuff myself and I’m a broke college student, so asking for ten bucks for an old video game wouldn’t be unreasonable. If I was giving it away, however, I wouldn’t be asking for reblogs. I’d just say hey, I have this thing, does anyone want it? I could choose randomly from the people who reply, which would most likely just consist of my followers. If anyone has actually gotten anything from these contests, feel free to refute me, but I’m not interested in reblogging what smells to me of a scam. I never win things like that anyway.
